Introduction

CARE International is one of the world’s top humanitarian and development charities, fighting poverty and injustice. Last year we reached more than 82 million people. We worked in 87 countries, implementing long-term programmes to fight poverty, responding to humanitarian emergencies, and advocating for policy change to improve the lives of the poorest people.

The CARE International UK Humanitarian and Emergencies Team requires administrative assistance to facilitate smooth support to CARE International’s overseas programmes.

CARE International UK’s emergency team is composed of three sub teams;

This role will provide an opportunity to learn about the internal workings of a large humanitarian organisation and in particular how CARE International responds to emergencies.

You will be fully briefed to ensure you are confident with all tasks undertaken.

Role Purpose

The volunteer is expected to interact and establish working relationships with all members of the humanitarian (or equivalent) team during the placement, in order to support priority areas and to gain exposure to the different aspects of the team’s work. At times it will be necessary to interact closely with members of other departments also.
