Key Responsibilities:


• Creating project work breakdown structure for the schedule ensuring its alignment with cost control and compliance with Barrick Standard Coding Structure.
• Experience and demonstrated understanding of concepts and products developed by the project management tool, i.e.: resource charts, Gantt charts, concepts of float, schedule status, critical path, baseline methodology, progress measurement, management of change, revisions, etc
• Experience and ability to consolidate independently generated project data effectively within cross-functional teams and be able to provide an integrated schedule.
• Ability to communicate and lead EPC contractors in their planning efforts.
• Provide directions and liase with all partners on the project relative to planning and scheduling activities.
• Work with the estimating and project team to elaborate the schedule to the desired level of detail.
• Participate in the decision making process to optimize the overall project schedule.
• Arrange and participate in weekly meetings with discipline leads to record the updated information on the weekly look-ahead and discuss factors that may impact the current plan.
• Provide support to the project teams by monitoring, reviewing, and analysis of the schedule and status of Contractors during all phases of the project, including the analysis of any schedule deviations and corrective actions.
• Provide earned value management reports on the project including manpower, productivity and commodity curves
• Preparation, monitoring and updating project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Provide guidance to junior Project Controls team members to ensure effective and consistent development and application of project management processes.


Qualifications and Education:


• Strong knowledge of Project Control functions and processes including planning/scheduling, cost estimating, cost control, change management, financial, and project accounting processes and systems.
• Excellent knowledge of Primavera (P6) is required .
• Ability to schedule and track multiple projects from concept to completion.
• Excellent computer skills (MS Office).
• Strong technical and business skills as well as an interest in project management processes.
• Strong communication skills, interpersonal, influencing, management and leadership skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills with result oriented approach and ability.
• Proven team player with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to initiate change and help others adapt to a continuously changing environment.
• 10 years experience as a Planner / Scheduler in a Construction environment would is required .
• Technical diploma or University degree with relevant experience in Project Management or a combination of work experience and training.
