Regional Roving Logistics Officer

We are Save the Children. We work in more than 120 countries. We save children’s lives. We fight for their rights. We help them fulfill their potential.

Save the Children in West and Central Africa We work in 6 countries which are: the Democratic Republic of Congo, Liberia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda and Sierra Leone. We are a participating member in Uganda and Cote d’Ivoire. Three among those 8 countries fall within Save the Children “list” of fragile states (Liberia, Democratic Republic of Congo and Cote d’Ivoire). Our Regional office is based in Dakar, Senegal.

Throughout the region we provide a broad range of strategies thus achieving a successful outcome in the main thematic areas where we work which are Protection, Education, Health and Emergencies. We have consolidated our long-standing programme base in health, education and protection, started to develop more work in hunger reduction and social protection. The region is key in implementing Save the Children’s newborn and child survival campaign.

In 2010, Save the Children UK reached thousands of children directly through our work with partners at community and district levels, thus achieving notable policy changes at national level that should reach hundreds of thousands more in the future.

But despite all our efforts the challenges are huge in a region where political and economic instability is recurrent, putting children at risk, thus the need for a Roving Regional Logistics Officer to help increase our efforts.
