Project Manager
Salary: R213 809.16 per annum (all-inclusive)

This position is on contract up to the end of 31 March 2013, renewable on mutual agreement and further funding.

Key performance areas:

  • Assist in the strategic and operational planning of Working for Water projects
  • Coordinate and mentor contractors and workers
  • Map and quantify Working for Water contracts
  • Assist in managing the contract tender process
  • Be responsible for in-field monitoring of contract/work sites of Working for the Coast teams
  • Ensure and coordinate contractor training, supervision and capacity building
  • Assist in the quality control and production control of contract and task-based operations
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with Working for Water standards/norms and Health and Safety requirements
  • Assist and manage the equipment and stores
  • Assist in the monitoring and submission of reports on Working for Water contracting progress, including GIS-based data capture and formal reporting
  • Assist in the financial and administrative management of Working for Water Projects
  • Organise and assist with community programmes and have an awareness with regard to the programme.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Nature Conservation or equivalent Natural Science degree would be an advantage
  • 1 year’s project management experience would be an added advantage
  • Code 08 driver’s licence is essential
  • Computer literacy is essential
  • Knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health and Safety is essential.
