Brief description: DFID is working to erode the terrible inequalities of opportunity that we see around the world today. This means tackling diverse challenges such as improving access to healthcare and education and helping to bring peace and stability to conflict affected states. To maximise our impact we are committed to getting best value for money from every pound of UK aid that we spend. We recognise and value the impact of best practice procurement and have an ambitious transformation agenda. We are making good progress – we’ve been short-listed for a CIPS Supplier Management Award - and are looking for talented people to join us and apply their strategic procurement skills in a truly global environment. These are challenging but rewarding roles, offering a real opportunity to make a meaningful difference. We have permanent vacancies and are also building a pool of procurement professionals that we can call on quickly and flexibly as our programme expands.

A highly experienced procurement professional with an in-depth understanding of procurement processes, strategic sourcing and supplier management, this individual is responsible for managing the effective and efficient delivery of procurement competitions and sourcing activities to deliver savings, added value benefits and improved value for money (VfM) and results impact for DFID and its businesses.

This individual is responsible for devising, developing and implementing tailored strategies for the sourcing and award of contracts and also for providing guidance across DFID including at senior levels.
