Opportunities for ELT Advisers in Sub-Saharan Africa

Salary: £28,090 per annum plus generous benefits (including free accommodation, pension provision and medical insurance)

We are currently recruiting seven ELT Advisers to work in the following locations across Sub-Saharan Africa:

Ethiopia (based Addis Ababa)
Nigeria (based Abuja)
Rwanda (based Kigali)
Senegal (based Dakar)
South Africa (based Johannesburg)
South Sudan (based Juba)
Tanzania (based Dar Es Salaam)

These roles will contribute to improving the teaching and learning of English in their respective countries through the successful delivery of the British Council`s global English Language Teaching programme. English is a key element of the British Council’s cultural relations work in Sub-Saharan Africa, and the postholders will be expected to achieve substantial impact through engaging in reform agendas at policy level with the Ministries of Education (Interface), through teacher training and development (Engaging Teachers), and through supporting learners with learning options which complement formal learning (Connect) – tailoring the British Council Global English products and services to local needs.

You will have: A DELTA, PGCE or Trinity Diploma TESOL qualification. Project and Contract Management skills, sector expertise including teacher training skills and substantial teaching experience.
