Membership Officer Workability Europe

Workability Europe, a European non-for profit organization, represents providers of work and employment services for people with disabilities. Today, it has 40 member organizations in Europe who provide a range of high-quality services to people with impairments.

Based in Brussels, Workability Europe is a representative and liaising body for its members in dealing with the European Commission and the European Parliament and also supports its members in developing European-funded projects and the exchange of best practice. It also works with a number of other Brussels based organizations to advance the members’ interests.

Workability Europe is a member driven organization and has an office with a team of three staff. We are looking for a Membership Officer to strengthen the team. The post is part-time but we aim to increase it to full-time at a later stage.

The tasks:

  • Develop a strategy to recruit new members across Europe to enhance Workability Europe’s membership base
  • Maintain and improve the membership database
  • Engage with existing members to ensure their satisfaction and retention as members of Workability Europe
  • Provide relevant information to members regarding their activities and European funding opportunities
  • Support members in developing projects and in best practice sharing activities
  • Provide support in the organization of board meetings, seminars and annual conferences
  • Work with the webmaster to update relevant parts of the website
  • Represent Workability Europe externally within the Brussels network of organizations

Experience:

  • Experience of having worked successfully with a broad range of members
  • Strong track record of client satisfaction and client retention management
  • Experience of working in European Affairs
  • Experience of organizing events
  • Successful record of working in a small dynamic office with a high volume work load

Key skills:

  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with member organizations
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills
  • Strong analytical skills to identify and process relevant information for members
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Advanced computer skills including Apple systems
  • Effective written and spoken communication skills in English
  • Ability to work in a small team and to prioritize a complex workload

Qualifications:

  • University degree in related area

Interviews will take place in Brussels on 18 October 2011 and the successful candidate will be invited to attend Workability’s Annual Conference on 20 October 2011 in Brussels.
