MANAGER OF MEMBERSHIP AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

The International Stability Operations Association’s mission is to be the valued and trusted association of private sector and non-governmental organizations providing critical services to government, military and commercial clients. ISOA provides membership services, industry advocacy, business development opportunities, frequent publications and a platform for discussion on issues related to the stability operations industry.

Position Summary
ISOA seeks a highly motivated, self-starter to join a small association staff as the Manager of Membership & Business Development.
This position is a management level hire working in a team environment to develop, oversee and coordinate Association membership, sales and business development efforts. Other responsibilities include supporting Association initiatives, participating on committees and contributing to general Association development.
This position reports to the ISOA President.

Responsibilities
Membership Responsibilities
  • Perform membership recruitment activities including outreach, meetings and frequent contact with potential members in order to achieve specific membership targets outlined in the strategic plan;
  • Develop and implement membership retention strategies including member-only products, discounts and programming;
  • Maintain contact database of past, current and potential members;
  • Communicate with past, current and potential members via e-mail, phone and in person.
Business Development Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies for Association products in order to achieve specific sales targets;
  • Attend events, conferences and roundtables on behalf of the Association in the U.S. and abroad;
  • Contribute to the planning and attend Association events, conferences and roundtables;
  • Contribute to social media and outreach programs;
  • Develop new sales and marketing initiatives.


Qualifications


  • Ideal candidates will hold a BA in Business, Marketing, or related field; MA preferred but not required.
  • Background or interest in International Affairs, including coursework, a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in an association, non-governmental, and/or membership organization. Small business/non-profit experience in management, marketing or sales will also be given preference.
  • Graphic and event planning experience is a plus.
  • Available for events outside of normal working hours, on as-needed basis.

  • Strong and proven ability to develop and implement projects and/or programs.
  • Strong communications skills across electronic, voice and in person settings.
  • Comfortable and proficient with professional social interaction and networking.
  • Exceptional professional judgement, ethics and demeanor.
  • Ability to work with deadlines and use effective time management strategies.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to navigate social media outlets and ability to edit website content.
