Transnet Freight Rail (TFR) is a division of Transnet responsible for freight movement across South Africa. We’re looking for a talented individual who is interested in becoming part of the TFR team and improving the movement of rail freight in SA.

The incumbent will be responsible for managing the provision of generalist Human Capital support to TFR personnel, so that Managers can have the necessary information and tools to manage their staff, and so that employees understand and are informed about all HC-related matters that affect them.

Principal Accountabilities: • Ensure the provision of an effective and efficient recruitment and selection service to line business partners • Talent attraction and retention • Co-ordination of induction and orientation programmes • Maintenance of organisational structures • Personnel management and administration • Ensure efficient HR data management and integrity • Effective management of employee well-being programmes • Effective implementation of Transnet’s performance management system • Development, implementation and monitoring of a depot EE plan in line with the company targets • Effective implementation of approved change leadership programmes and initiatives • Conduct an employees’ training needs analysis • Implementation and monitoring of depot Training Plan • Implementation of the company’s talent management programme • People management in area of responsibility • Management of depot Human Capital budget • Effective implementation of all Transnet Human Resources management policies as well as related legislation • Implementation of Transnet Grievance and Disciplinary • Effective implementation of agreements with labour unions (ensure compliance) • Maintenance of sound labour relations • Production and timeous submission of periodic HR reports to Regional HC Manager as required.

Applications are invited from diligent and well-organised candidates who are in possession of an HC-related Bachelor’s or 3-year National Diploma in Human Resources Management or related qualification. A proven track record/experience in Human Resources management/administration will be an advantage. Applicants must also be in possession of a (Code B) driver’s licence and be competent and prepared to drive such vehicle and have good understanding of the SAP system.
