We are now seeking an Emergency Programme Coordinator, Protection to support and advice HelpAge emergency and recovery programmes in Asia, Africa and Latin America/Caribbean and the development of HelpAge’s expertise and effectiveness in the protection of older people in emergency response and recovery. The post holder will advise and support HelpAge regional and country offices and partners on strategies and activities to protect older people and guide and support HelpAge teams in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of protection activities in emergency response and recovery programmes.

The ideal candidate will have substantial field experience of humanitarian protection programmes in emergency contexts including identifying vulnerable individuals and groups, ensuring access to assistance, family tracing and community support structures and mechanisms. You will also have familiarity with humanitarian law and principles and the international humanitarian system including the cluster system and current debates on protection and rights-based approaches and be experienced in providing technical advice and support to programme teams, including needs assessments, programme design, monitoring and evaluation.
