Early Stage Researcher - Social, Ethical and Privacy Issues in ICT for Ageing and Assistive Technology for Older People

The Centre for Science, Society and Citizenship (www.cssc.eu) is offering a Marie Curie Fellowships in the VALUE AGEING (INCORPORATING EUROPEAN FUNDAMENTAL VALUES INTO ICT FOR AGEING: A VITAL POLITICAL, ETHICAL, TECHNOLOGICAL, AND INDUSTRIAL CHALLENGE, www.valueageing.eu) programme aimed at creating the opportune framework for researcher mobility and knowledge sharing through non commercial research centres and industry on the way to better address social, ethical and value implications of ICT for Ageing. This initiative is co-financed by the European Commission under the EU’s Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Development.

Research will be developed in the following fields:

  • ICT for Ageing and Respect for EU Fundamental Rights;
  • Ethical Codes and CSR in ICT for Ageing;
  • Dignity, Technology and Ageing.

We provide 24-month research grants for one Early Stage Researcher (any individual fulfilling the requirements to register for a PhD). They will be mentored by a senior researcher at CSSC where they are expected to acquire and interpret research data and results, and provide feedback to other staff. Their job will be based in Rome. During their terms, however, they will be sent for short staying comprised between 3 and 6 months in hosting European research institutions in Spain, Ireland, and Belgium. Early Stage Researchers will be selected on the basis of excellence in their first degrees, clear evidence of enthusiasm for the research and commitment to all aspects of the areas offered by VALUE‐AGEING, and availability to travel.

The grants will provide for a regular salary according to the category of the fellow. Additionally following costs for Early Stage Researchers will be covered:

  • Living costs in the destination country (during the secondment periods);
  • Mobility allowance;
  • Travel allowance.
