We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and well-respected educator with the vision and capacity to help shape and build the Melbourne School of Design (MSD), the graduate school of the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning, into a major academic centre of excellence in the field of Built Environment education.

You will bring the proven leadership and academic management capacity to articulate and implement a clear vision of graduate education, contributing to the future success of the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning. You will successfully manage the planning, development, implementation and performance of the MSD, foster a collaborative work environment, encouraging innovation and the use of best practice teaching methods to enhance graduate student opportunities.

The Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning is an active community of staff and students whose interest and expertise focuses on the built environment. A global leader in the design and realisation of inhabited environments, the Faculty continues to thrive and is home to 150 permanent staff and approximately 2000 students. Assistance with relocation and visa costs will be provided for the successful appointee and their immediate family.

Employment type: The Directorship is available for a period of four years. The successful applicant will also be offered an appointment as Professor (Level E) in his or her discipline and will retain that position at the conclusion of the Directorship. (A part-time or fixed term appointment may be considered).
