DEPUTY CHIEF OF PARTY

Founded in 1914, ICMA (International City/County Management Association) is the premier local government leadership and management organization. Its mission is to create excellence in local governance by advocating and developing the professional management of local government worldwide. In addition to supporting its nearly 9,000 members, ICMA provides publications, data, information, technical assistance, and training and professional development to thousands of city, town, and county experts and other individuals throughout the world.

ICMA is preparing a proposal for USAID’s Mexico Crime and Violence Prevention Program. The program aims to build stronger & more resilient communities that can withstand the pressures of crime and violence. USAID/Mexico seeks to strengthen the Government of Mexico’s ability to implement policies and leverage resources towards preventing and reducing crimes.


Qualifications


The Deputy Chief of Party (DCoP) must have, at minimum, a university degree in a related field such as Law, Social Work, Criminal or Juvenile Justice, Public or Business Administration, Community Development; a higher degree—Master’s, J.D., or Ph.D. is desirable.

The candidate must be an experienced professional who has a minimum of six years of experience as a development professional implementing donor-funded youth at-risk, crime and or violence reduction, public safety or community development programs.

The DCoP must have strong management skills and be able to work with a range of technical staff and develop professional relationships with senior government officials across partisan lines, municipal authorities, and coordinate with other donors involved in community crime prevention and development.

Experience working in Mexico for at least 3 years and in Latin America for 5 years.
