Country Representative, Haiti

PSI seeks entrepreneurial, dynamic candidates with an interest in private sector approaches to development for the position of Country Representative, Haiti. This is a complex multi-donor, multi-product (HIV, malaria, safe water, nutrition, BCC) program with a budget of approximately $5M/yr. The Country Representative (CR) will be based in Port-au-Prince and will report to the Regional Director in Washington, D.C.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Country Representative will be responsible for the overall development, management (financial, administrative, and programmatic), and representation of PSI’s activities in Haiti. This includes, but is not limited to:
•Strategic planning and fundraising for existing and new activities

•Management of program budget; as well as financial and other reporting as required by donors and PSI/Washington

•Develop local capacities in management and leadership

•Development and implementation of marketing and communication campaigns and other social marketing activities

•Creation and monitoring of marketing and annual work plans including tracking and maintaining distribution systems and sales figures

•Supervision of research activities

•In-country personnel recruitment, training, and supervision

•Development and enforcement of field office administrative policies

•External relations with donor, government, NGO, and commercial entities

•Overall institutional development

QUALIFICATIONS:
•Significant personnel and financial management experience

•Must be a team player with coaching skills

•Minimum 5 years work experience in a developing country

•Relevant post-graduate degree (MBA, MIA, MPH, etc.) or equivalent experience

•Knowledge of international development and health issues

•Familiarity with USAID, the Global Fund, KFW and the international donor community

•Fluency in English and French

•Country Representative experience is preferred

Preference will be given to candidates familiar with USAID and the international donor community. Successful candidates will exhibit creative thinking ability; excellent communication, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to work efficiently and quickly under pressure; and an interest in private sector approaches to development.
