Chief Speech Therapist/Audiologist Gr 1
Salary: R273 609 – R303 666 per annum plus benefits (Ref. HEALTH/KHC/1174)

Requirements: • Degree in Speech Therapy and Audiology/Speech Therapy/Audiology • Registration with the HPCSA as a Speech Therapist or Audiologist or Speech Therapist/Audiologist • At least 3 years’ actual experience as a Speech Therapist or Speech Therapist/Audiologist in the field following Community Service • Valid driver’s licence is preferred.

Duties: • Be responsible for the assessment and appropriate management of all patients referred to Speech Therapy/Audiology • Write reports on the assessment and management plan • Attend ward rounds, facilitate and run intervention programmes and submit patient reports • Manage district Speech Therapy/Audiology clients on outreach • Perform assigned administrative duties as well as be responsible for the supervision of allocated staff • Monitor the implementation of the Speech Therapy and Audiology provincial strategic plan • Monitor proper utilisation of allocated financial and physical resources • Promote and market Speech Therapy/Audiology in the hospital and community • Participate in continuous professional development programmes • Manage Speech Therapy and Audiology Services in the hospital.
