The Community Development Finance Association (cdfa) is the UK trade association for Community Development Finance Institutions (CDFIs). Its mission is to support the development of a thriving and sustainable sector, delivered through CDFIs by providing finance to businesses, social enterprises and individuals who are unable to raise loan finance from banks. Community development finance delivers financial products primarily aimed at businesses in disadvantaged areas, but also addresses increasing personal debt in poorer communities.

This year marks an exciting and challenging time of growth for the cdfa with some significant achievements, including securing a £60m financial investment through the government's Regional Growth Fund to pass on to its members. Last year we had an organisational income of £2.4million.

Chief Executive - London

Working closely with the Chair and Trustees, you will provide leadership and direction to the UK CDFI sector: representing and promoting our members' interests, influencing decision-makers in the public and corporate sectors and ensuring our work is underpinned by rigorous management practices. You will also identify and deliver on opportunities for new project development, and play a key role in generating income for our work from government, corporate and charitable sources.

An outstanding communicator with substantial senior-level leadership experience, you must also have a track record of high-level representation and lobbying. You must be a strong strategic thinker, familiar with the workings of corporate governance, and thoroughly committed to the community development sector.
