Associate Scientist - Agricultural Economics

The job position will provide technical support to the Scientist/Agricultural Anthropologist on activities relating to the management of the research team and research activities of the Philippine Rice Self Sufficiency Project (Sub-Project 3). These research activities include data collection via household surveys; monitoring and evaluation; database management;' socio-economic data analysis; report writing and presentation of study results.

Major accountabilities / Responsibilities
• Manage the team of reserachers and research activities of the Philippine Rice Self Sufficiency Project (Sub-Project 3)
• Design and supervise the conduct of the socio-economic and KAP household surveys and monitoring activities
• Coordinate research activities with NARES collaborators
• Perform socio-economic analysis
• Write research papers for journal publications and present research results to local and international conferences, meetings, and workshops
• Perform all other related tasks that may be assigned by the supervisor

Qualification requirements
• At least with MS units in Agricultural Economics
• At least 5 years relevant experience especially on research management
• Ability to work independently and effectively across diverse cultures and work as a member of a multidisciplinary team
• Experience in data collection, data management, qualitative and quantitative data analysis and report writing
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
