Adviser Rights, Equity & Inclusion - Based in New Delhi

Salary: The package for the position will be around Rs.9.5 lakhs Gross per annum

WaterAid India invites applications from experienced and qualified professionals for the position of Adviser Rights, Equity & Inclusion for its office in New Delhi.

WaterAid is an international nongovernmental organisation focused exclusively on improving poor people’s access to safe water, improved hygiene and sanitation in developing countries.

WaterAid has operations in 26 countries of Africa, Asia and the Pacific Region. In India WaterAid operates as a liaison Office (Country Office) in New Delhi and Additional Liaison (Regional) Offices in Bangalore, Bhopal, Lucknow, and Lucknow. In ten states across the country, WaterAid supports the work of a large number of national and regional NGOs in the provision of safe and effective water and sanitation for poor and marginalized communities. WAI’s programme focus in the coming five years will be promoting and securing the rights and access to safe water, improved hygiene and sanitation for many excluded and marginalized people through direct services and millions more through our influencing work.

WaterAid India invites applications from experienced and qualified candidates for the position of Adviser Rights, Equity & Inclusion for its Country Office in New Delhi. The post holder will anchor and facilitate the transition within WAI and its partners to Rights Based Approach from a position of domain expertise, while engaging with key stakeholders, and ensuring Equity and Inclusion in all WAI’s efforts. The post holder will work within the Policy and Partnership team at the WaterAid country office in New Delhi, report to Director Policy and Partnerships (DPP) and is part of Country Management team.

Essential requirements for the post are Master degree in Social Science, Human Rights, Law or in a relevant discipline along with 10 years of experience, of which 3 years in a similar role, with significant exposure to a range of human rights issues including approaches and techniques, with hands on experience in research and monitoring policy environment, Exceptional skill in initiating campaigns, negotiation, networking and outreach and ability to work in a variety of settings, including legal, academic, policy, and activist arenas; and with people from different social and cultural backgrounds.

This post is offered on a 4-year fixed-term contract normally renewable at the end of contract, however it can also be renewed as we transit into an Indian entity.
